One of the questions I often get asked in the lead up to the big day is, ‘How am I going to be sure I haven’t forgotten anything?’.
One of the key things to do prior to your wedding is to do a run through, in your head, of your day and how it is going to proceed – i.e. wakeup, have a shower, have breakfast, hair, makeup, flowers arrive, get dressed, photographer arrives… basically a timeline that goes through the details for each stage; the pre wedding, at the venue and post wedding.
For ease I have created the following checklist for you:
√ Table Plan / Easel
√ Name Cards
√ Wishing Well / Card Box / Bird Cage
√ Ceremony Décor
√ Guest signing book or instructions
√ Make sure everyone who requires button holes has them
√ Celebrant and ceremony script
√ Paperwork and pen
√ Order of Service (not compulsory)
Post Ceremony & Reception
√ Photo list
√ Reception run sheet and timeline
√ Speech order
√ DJ / Live music
√ First dance music
The key is to keep it simple, and to make sure you have a great celebrant and MC to guide your wedding day from start to finish to make it a celebration to remember.
